Why Sales?

Sales, to me, is more than just persuading someone to buy a product. Through interactions with sales professionals, I came across a unanimous characteristic: a genuine sense of pride in their work. From an outsider's view, sales can come across as a simple transaction. So what's the source of this pride? The true meaning for me is the satisfaction of understanding customer needs, solving problems, and creating long-lasting value for customers.

I take pride in the process of investing time to ask questions, researching leads, exploring product capabilities, and constantly developing my skills as markets and customer expectations change. All of which is worth it for every satisfied smile and light bulb moment as customers recognize the value of your efforts. Furthermore, it is one of the few professions in which every rejection consistently calls for you to continuously adapt, learn, and grow not only in the field but as a person.

I discovered my passion during a summer job as a Cashier in a local wholesale store with mainly B2B transactions. The interactions with other business owners and the constantly changing product line required me to be in a fast-paced environment and learn the importance of strong communication. The once simple job for the summer provided me with more tests of growth in my passion and career. Where it eventually allowed me to proudly contribute to the introduction of seven new product lines at the National Cosmoprof Beauty Trade Show, an annunal industry even with an average of 26,000-32,000 attendees.

The sales profession calls for continuous improvement through personal dedication. It develops skills in relationship management, understanding customers' mindset in business, negotiating, and influencing others. I am excited to learn with more experience and wisdom from industry professionals and contribute to creating value for my customers.
